Meet Me in the 'Burgh

In May, credit union leaders will gather at the largest credit union conference in Pennsylvania, as it should be. I’ve been attending these events since 1975. Along the way, we’ve had some that were very good and some ... Well, can’t win them all.

Here are some of my candid observations about our upcoming Convention ….

• For you techies, we will have an app available. You’ll be able to download all you need to know to your phone/tablet – about the conference of course! Kudos to PaCUSC for sponsoring!

Value of Partnerships

I recently had the opportunity to attend a League Dialogue event sponsored by CUNA Mutual Group (CMG). This annual event is an exchange of ideas and opinions with Association/League Presidents, CUNA, and CMG. This is an important must attend conference for those committed to the advancing and protecting the credit union movement. All too often, credit unions look at CUNA Mutual Group as just another vendor and that is far from the truth. Its 11 o’clock … Do you know who is your Congressman?

Every 10 years following a U.S. census, regardless of which political party is in control, re-districting happens at the federal and state level. This year, it appears a bit over the top with new Congressional district lines stretching from virtually one end of the state to another based on political distribution, not voter needs or wants. (But, that’s a topic for another time.) The state’s new map has been thrown out by the court and is out for a re-write.
