US Senator Casey Presented With Keystone Award


HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) handed out its most prestigious awards during its 73rd Annual Convention at the HERSHEY Lodge in Hershey.  Conferees from throughout the state attended the meeting, which featured a keynote address by former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski.

            U.S. Senator Robert Casey, Jr. was presented the Keystone Award for his work as state Treasurer in developing the Credit Union Better Choice program with Pennsylvania credit unions.  This statewide program provides consumers with an affordable alternative to payday loans.

            The following individuals were honored for their contributions to the movement:

·         Bruce Foulke, President/CEO of American Heritage Federal Credit Union of Philadelphia, received the William Pratt Award for Outstanding Professional of the Year.

·         Dale Pickering, Treasurer of People First Federal Credit Union of Allentown, received the Joseph Moore Award for Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.

The 2007 Credit Union Youth Ambassador of Pennsylvania was won by Toni Montgomery representing the Harrisburg Chapter of Credit Unions and employed at AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union, Mechanicsburg.  As the Youth Ambassador, Montgomery will promote credit union youth activities and serve as an representative of the PCUA during events and meetings.

In addition, Daniel Hambleton of the Lan-Chester Chapter of Credit Unions and representing the Lancaster Red Rose Credit Union of Lancaster was named First Alternate and Jill Houseknecht representing the Wyoming Valley Chapter of Credit Unions and employed by Cross Valley Federal Credit Union of Wilkes-Barre was named Second Alternate. 

A number of awards were presented to credit unions in recognition of their work within their communities.
