Local Credit Union Leader Elected to PCUA Board

HARRISBURG – The members of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association have elected Maria LaVelle, CEO of Westmoreland Community Federal Credit Union to its Board of Directors.  LaVelle will serve a three-year term and represent credit unions in the Armstrong, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties.  Since 2001, LaVelle has served as the CEO of the Greensburg-based credit union. 

LaVelle also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation and is active in the Greensburg Chapter of Credit Unions, holding the position of Vice President.  Within Westmoreland County, LaVelle is involved in many community events, including the Chamber of Commerce and the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure.  She also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Business Management from Point Park University.
