CO-OP Mobile Banking

Value-added service for credit unions participating in Shared Branching

Now members can access their account anytime, anywhere from their mobile phone. CO-OP Mobile offers an integrated mobile banking solution that minimizes credit union capital investment and provides members with real-time access to accounts using their cellular devices.

CO-OP Mobile allows members to enroll for mobile banking, register cellular devices and download a mobile banking application without involving credit union resources.


Members can perform the following functions from the main menu on the cellular device:

  • View account balances
  • View recent activity on a specific account, up to 30 days of history or as supported
  • View details of a specific transaction
  • Search for a transaction by date posted or amount
  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Make payment transfers (share to loan account)
  • Find nearest CO-OP Network ATMs or Shared Branch locations

A help system is available for assistance with any function.

CO-OP Mobile consists of a member enrollment Web site, device registration Web pages and a downloadable mobile application. FAQs and help information are also provided.

The downloadable application can run across different wireless carriers and devices. Downloadable applications offer end users a rich, secure experience that has been maximized for each specific supported device.

To enroll, members visit the credit union website and link to CO-OP Mobile at https://www.co-opmobile.org.

The member will be prompted to identify their credit union, enter the primary accountholder name, account number, and provide the following personal information for authentication:

  • The last five digits of their Social Security number.
  • Any two of the following: street number, ZIP Code, telephone number, date of birth.

If the information matches the data provided to NGN by the credit union host system, members are authenticated and can register their mobile device. To register, members enter the mobile phone number and select the device carrier, manufacturer, and model. Finally, the member establishes a Mobile PIN.

After enrollment, the CO-OP Mobile functions are managed via the mobile device. CO-OP Mobile sends a text message to the member’s phone with the device-specific URL for downloading the application software. After download, the member accepts the terms and conditions and enters the activation code, the cellular phone number, and the mobile PIN.

When members first sign on to the application, it requests verification of the Mobile PIN. Members can then access their accounts. A PIN is not required to perform ATM and shared branch searches.

Credit unions have the option of using the CO-OP Mobile-branded enrollment, device registration, and downloadable application without any setup fee. Credit unions may brand the device registration pages and downloadable mobile banking application for a one-time setup fee.
