Prepare Before Disaster Strikes
National Preparedness Month (NPM) is a federally recognized
awareness campaign inspiring individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to make themselves more prepared and improve our ability to respond to and recover from disasters. This is an opportunity for credit unions to review and test their business continuity plans.

For the seventh consecutive year, Agility, an Association business partner through CUNA Stategic Services, is offering free educational webinars, tools, and resources throughout the month of September. Webinars will be held on Wednesday's at 2:00 p.m. Click on the titles below to register and receive more information.

When an emergency occurs, our biggest defense is
preparedness. Please visit Agililty or contact your Association Account Executive to learn more.

You'll also want to keep CU PolicyPro in mind. Several diasater policies are available that can be stored and accessed via any Internet connection.

Collaboration Corner
The web pages and material on the Small Credit Union Network website are being revised.  We've reviewed your feedback and 3 in turn are simplifying the navigation to improve your ability to find what you need quickly and easily.

We are looking at an October rollout and invite you to give us additional input on how we can improve the SCUNet content.

The site is yours! Log in, take a look around and then submit your suggestions during our remodeling process.  We are committed to being a valuable resource for Small Credit Union Network credit unions.

What's New in CU PolicyPro?
4 The semi-annual updates to CU PolicyPro have just been posted.  They include updates to 27 policies, as well as two new policies introduced (“Garnishment of Federal Benefit Payments” and “Unfair or Abusive Mortgage Lending Practices”).

The full text of the updated policies as well as the tracked changes version of each updated policy can be found in the library section of the online manual. It is important to note that when updates are made to the Master Manual, these updates do not automatically go into your working manual.  We do not want to take the chance of overwriting your content, or putting in content that may not apply to your credit union.

For help in taking full advantage of CU Policy Pro, contact PCUA Compliance & Operations Officer Elaine Royer at 800-932-0661, extension 5341.

Compliance Q&A
Q: A member comes to the credit union with a check for $19,000.  She deposits it into her share account and then withdraws $12,000 in cash.  Do we need to complete two CTRs (Currency Transaction Reports)?

A: No, you will not complete a CTR for the deposit as that was a check, not cash; you will, however, need to complete a CTR for the $12,000 that the member withdrew in cash.

Compliance Town Meetings

A series of regional meetings will be conducted by Association compliance staff. The agenda will include the latest compliance news, hot topics, and updates. Take advantage of this great opportunity to network and discuss issues with your peers. Every credit union is eligible for 1 FREE registration.
