Compliance Town Meetings

Keeping up with new compliance requirements isn't easy.   That's why your Association wants to keep you informed through regional Compliance Town Meetings.   Town Meetings are an excellent way to stay in touch with new and proposed regulations and are typically held each spring and fall.

Troubled Debt Panel: Loans Gone Bad

This panel presentation tackles troubled loans.  The session will open with an overview of troubled debt restructuring and the basics of modifications presented by the Association's Audit and Comliance staff.  Experienced attorneys will join the panel, working through hypothetical examples of what can go wrong and the remedies credit unions might pursue to rehabilitate the loan.  We will discuss identifying the first signs of trouble, lien position, judgment creditors, tax liens and foreclosure.

Panel Attorneys
Springfield:  Attorney Steve Adams, Stevens and Lee
Enola:  Attorney Chris Pippett, Fox Rothschild, LLP
Mars:  Attorney Matt Urban, Weltman, Weinberg & Reis CO., LPA; and

Human Resource Issues Affecting Credit Unions

Human resource issues are becoming more and more complex.  Employers need to deal with the day-to-day human resource laws and regulations, including confidentiality, documentation, wage and hour issues and communication.  Possible changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act could lead to the reclassification of some salaried staff as non-exempt.  An experienced attorney will discuss these topics, as well as others, including electronic devices in the workplace, social media, personnel policies, patient protections and Affordable Care Act, and employee benefits.

Panel Attorneys
Springfield and Enola:  Attorney Donna Walsh, Myers, Brier and Kelly, LLP
Mars:  Attorney Mariah Passarelli, Buchanan, Ingersoll, Rooney, PC
