Deadlines for the 2015 Pennsylvania Credit Union Association's Awards & Scholarships are December 31, 2014, with the exception of the Paul E. Kanjorski Young Professionals Advocacy Scholarship, which has a November 14, 2014 deadline.

The William W. Pratt Professional of the Year Award
The William W. Pratt Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to an outstanding credit union professional involved in daily credit union operations.
The nominee must be a full-time professional senior management employee who reports directly to the CEO of any Association-affiliated credit union, should be in good standing in the community, should understand the credit union philosophy, promote the credit union idea, and actively demonstrate loyalty to the organized credit union movement.

The Joseph A. Moore Volunteer of the Year Award
The Joseph A. Moore Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to a credit union volunteer who has selflessly given time, effort, and talent to the betterment of the movement with little or no monetary compensation.
The nominee should be a person of good reputation in the community, a person who understands and works to promote the credit union philosophy, who has worked to better the movement, and who has demonstrated loyalty to the organized credit union movement.

The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award
The Program was established to encourage credit union and chapter involvement in community projects and external activities (i.e., helping solve core community problems such as housing, transportation, hunger, or literacy; holding food, clothing, or school supply drives for the needy; raising money on behalf of charitable organizations; helping an organization or agency with events or projects, such as coaching a Special Olympics team; tutoring or reading to students at a local school; sponsoring a community volunteer of the year award).

The Louise A. Herring Award for Philosophy in Action
The Louise A. Herring Award for Philosophy in Action formally recognizes credit unions that demonstrate in an extraordinary way the practical application of the People Helping People philosophy. Examples of eligible activities include, but are not limited to: providing services for members with unique financial needs (childrens' savings clubs, discounts for senior citizens, other extraordinary efforts); counseling members who face financial difficulties; hosting educational seminars for members (retirement planning, car buying, budgeting, college financing); student-run, in-school branch
; making efforts to educate members on the credit union difference.

The Paul E. Kanjorski Young Professionals Advocacy Scholarship
The Paul E. Kanjorski Young Professionals Advocacy Scholarship is awarded annually to honor former Pennsylvania Congressman Paul Kanjorski, who supported many legislative efforts on behalf of credit unions. The applicant must be a professional or volunteer of any Association-affiliated credit union between the ages of 18-35. The scholarship is to attend the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C., March 8-11, 2015. NOTE: Deadline is November 14, 2014.

The William M. Noble Memorial Scholarship
The William M. Noble Memorial Scholarship for Fall Leadership Conference honors William M. Noble, the man who pioneered credit union education in Pennsylvania. Management personnel of any Association-affiliated credit union are eligible to apply for the Noble Memorial Scholarship. The recipient will be provided with lodging and conference registration fee to the Fall Leadership Conference, September 10-12, 2015.

The Josephine Sakovics Memorial Scholarship
The Josephine Sakovics Memorial Scholarship for the PCUA Annual Convention & Expo honors Josephine Sakovics for her dedication and commitment to the credit union movement. Volunteers and management personnel of any Association-affiliated credit union are eligible to apply for the Sakovics Memorial Scholarship. The recipient will be provided with three nights’ lodging and conference registration fee to the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association’s Annual Convention & Expo, May 14-16, 2015.

The Joseph F. Hinchey Memorial Scholarship
The Joseph F. Hinchey Memorial Scholarship for the Judge/Bradley Leadership School is awarded annually to a deserving credit union professional of an Association-affiliated credit union that supports Pacul Services, Inc., through the purchase of its services. The Scholarship must be used to attend the School in the year in which it is awarded. The scholarship covers tuition and some additional expenses to attend the Judge/Bradley Leadership School, August 9-13, 2015.

Memorial Scholarships to Judge/Bradley Leadership School
Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to deserving credit union professionals of any Association-affiliated credit union who wish to attend the Judge/Bradley Leadership School. The Memorial Scholarship must be used to attend the School in the year in which it is awarded. The scholarship covers tuition and some additional expenses to attend the Judge/Bradley Leadership School, August 9-13, 2015.
The James J. McCormack Scholarship, sponsored by CO-OP Financial Services, will be awarded to the highest-scoring applicant for the Judge/Bradley Memorial Scholarships.
