HARRISBURG –– Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) Board Chair Maria LaVelle is pleased to announce that PCUA President and CEO Jim McCormack has been selected as the 2014 Herb Wegner Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Credit Union Foundation to be presented during the 2014 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in February 2014.
For more than 40 years, McCormack has been a champion of the credit union movement. Earlier in 2013, McCormack announced his retirement from the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association on December 31, 2013, but will remain as a consultant to the Association Board of Directors through November 2014.
“The Board of Directors is pleased that the National Credit Union Foundation will be honoring Jim as the 2014 Herb Wegner Lifetime Achievement Award recipient,” said Board Chair LaVelle. “His four decades of commitment to credit union cooperation, advocacy, and growth of credit unions around the state, country, and world has made our movement stronger.” LaVelle stated, “His passion for credit unions is unparalleled.”
McCormack began his credit union career in 1971. Prior to joining the Association, he held various positions with CUNA Mutual Group, both in Pittsburgh and its corporate headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin. McCormack is a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
