Pennsylvania Credit Union Association

4-14-11 Hike the Hill for Education Finance

Credit union leaders and representatives from Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Hiked the Hill in Harrisburg to educate members of Pennsylvania's General Assembly about the CU Student Choice Program.  Legislators commended credit unions for taking the initiative to create a private sector solution to assist the public concern of affordable education finance.  In addition, participating credit unions shared what they are doing for members, small businesses and their community to further differentiate themselves.

Approximately 50 legislators were reached by group visits and conversation at the PCUA sponsored table in the Capitol rotunda.   With an uncertain budget and so many interest groups filtering the Capitol with concerns and demands, many legislators were taken back and appreciative that credit unions weren’t here asking for “things” but offering their help.

The Association would like to thank American Heritage FCU, AmeriChoice FCU, Discovery FCU, Glatco CU, Heritage Valley FCU, Keystone FCU and New Cumberland FCU for their time.  This event would not have been a success without their effort and support!
