HARRISBURG — Norb Kaczmarek, President/CEO of Erie Federal Credit Union of Erie is one of six national credit union leaders inducted to the 2009 Credit Union House “Hall of Leaders.”
Created in 2008 by the Credit Union House, LLC, the Hall of Leaders provides lasting recognition for individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to credit unions and who have made a significant impact on the credit union movement at the local, state, or national level. To date, 21 leaders from 13 states have been inducted.
“We wanted a permanent way to recognize leaders who have played- and continue to play- key roles in strengthening our credit union system,” said Rick Pillow, Chairman, Credit Union House. “As credit unions’ permanent presence in the nation's capital, Credit Union House is the ideal location for this lasting recognition; the display of names will serve as a reminder to all who visit of the many individuals whose cooperative efforts and strong commitments have built our credit union movement.”
Nominated by the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA), Kaczmarek served as Chairman of the PCUA Board of Directors from 2005-2007 and has served as a Director since 1997. In addition, Kaczmarek has served as the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation since 2007.
“The entire credit union movement in Pennsylvania is proud of the accomplishments and dedication of Norb Kaczmarek,” said PCUA President/CEO Jim McCormack. “We are thrilled that he has received national recognition for his work with CU House.”
Credit Union House, LLC, located in Washington, D.C., was constructed through the cooperative efforts of every state credit union trade association and the Credit Union National Association. It is sustained by annual contributions from credit unions and individuals within the credit union system. Credit Union House hosts close to 100 events annually, including legislative receptions, educational workshops, board meetings, and political fundraisers, attracting hundreds of Members of Congress and credit union leaders from throughout the world.
